I developed all front-end code for the Hobie consumer website and its integrated e-commerce platform, with a focus on creating a seamless user experience from first visit through purchase. The goal was to deliver a modern, polished interface that looked great, performed well, and worked reliably across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
My role centered on building responsive, production-ready front-end templates and components that supported both brand content and online shopping. Every layout decision was made with usability in mind, ensuring visitors could explore the product lineup, navigate content easily, and move into the buying experience without friction.
The project integrated closely with Hobie’s Python and Django CMS based architecture. I collaborated within the constraints and capabilities of the CMS to ensure the front end was cleanly connected to dynamic content, reusable modules, and the underlying data structure driving the site.
A major focus was maintaining consistency across the core consumer site and the e-commerce experience. This meant designing and implementing UI patterns that carried through the entire journey, keeping the visual language cohesive while ensuring key shopping interactions remained intuitive and conversion-friendly.
The site also leveraged multiple cloud hosting solutions, which required attention to performance, asset delivery, and real world reliability. I built the interface with speed in mind, optimizing the front end so pages remained fast and responsive even as content and traffic demands scaled.
